The Property Experts reveal now is a good time for agents to go solo

According to The Property Experts, the recent falls in mortgage rates, wages rising faster than inflation, and the subsequent increase in property transactions are all contributing to a record season of sign-ups for self-employed agency networks.

"We often speak to agents who are planning to launch six or even twelve months in the future."
- Jim Harris, Managing Director at The Property Experts

“Everything points to a buoyant property market for Autumn and well into 2025. Further rate cuts are predicted between now and Christmas and we’re just seeing the pent-up demand in the market being released with much more to come,” explained Sean Newman, Founder of The Property Experts.

He believes: “While some people find themselves forced into the decision after being made redundant (only to realise it was a blessing in disguise) when it comes to starting your own business, it’s always better to be in control of the timing – you can get all your ducks in a row and be in the driving seat.”

In terms of transactions, Sean stressed that “As far as customers are concerned, the Olympics are over, the kids are back at school, the election is done and dusted, and there’s a period of stability in the property market. They’re clearly thinking about making a move – and agents should do the same.”

Jim Harris, Managing Director at The Property Experts, added: “There’s no such thing as the perfect time to start your own business but there are more properties for sale than ever before, and these properties will either sell or agencies will find their clients switching agents. Either way, transactions will increase at the back end of the year.

“Everyone’s circumstances are different which is why we offer a confidential discovery call to everyone considering our self-employed model. It gives us the opportunity to discuss the timing of their decision and if the move is a good fit for them. We often speak to agents who are planning to launch six or even twelve months in the future.”
