Housebuilder Redrow has announced that it has secured planning consent for 231 new homes as part of the first phase of its latest development at Abbey Creek, located in Faversham.
The 31-acre site will initially provide 231 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s Heritage Collection and forms part of the firm's wider commitment to develop thriving communities in Kent. The proposal for Phase 2 will include plans for a further 60 homes.
According to Redrow, the new homes will embody the firm's ‘fabric first’ approach, producing homes that are well insulated and energy efficient, giving customers the opportunity to live more sustainably, whilst reducing the running cost of their home.
Affordable housing will be part of the new development, with 35% of the homes built dedicated to this purpose.
This latest phase of homes represents Redrow’s third development in Swale following Regent Quay and Amber Fields, both based in Sittingbourne.
Josephine Baker, Head of Planning at Redrow Southeast region: “This latest planning approval represents an exciting milestone for Redrow in North Kent, forming part of our wider delivery of homes and amenities across the county.
“Faversham is a charming market town with a lot to offer, appealing to buyers seeking a home in commutable distance to London, alongside great connectivity to the Kent coast and access to a historic town centre buzzing with a range of shops, pubs, and restaurants.
“We look forward to starting work on site and launching homes for sale in due course.”
