The Digital Property Group asked their colleagues in Business Services to use Market View Pro to look at the whole of the UK and the results are in.

The area of the UK with the most new properties coming on to the market is South West London (2,708 in June) where, for at least 18 months now, more affordable prices for larger homes (compared to North and West London) are luring buyers over the river and down to places such as Barnes, Clapham, Wandsworth, Balham and Southfields.

The second busiest area is Birmingham followed by Brighton, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Gloucester, Peterborough, Newcastle upon Tyne, East London and Kingston upon Thames.

Market View Pro records every property status change on PrimeLocation.com and FindaProperty.com to hand subscriber’s daily local market updates – essential for winning new instructions.

The full list is below so you can see where your patch features in the pecking order, but we’ve also looked at which areas have cooled down or hotted up. Brighton has done well over the past year – the number of new properties coming on to the market within this seaside retreat has doubled compared to June last year. Peterborough is also another town to experience a boom in the number of homes for sale as has Sheffield, Norwich and Oxford.

Those with dropping stock levels include Newcastle upon Tyne, Tunbridge Wells, Leicester, Swansea and Plymouth.
