Taylor Wimpey sells off-plan to satisfy demand

Despite the widespread downturn in property sales, housebuilder Taylor Wimpey East Midlands has almost sold out of its homes for 2009 and is now taking reservations for 2010.

After encouraging sales during the first half of the year, the company, which builds under the Taylor Wimpey, George Wimpey and Bryant Homes banners, is continuing to open new sites as buyers recognise now is the right time to invest in a home.

Kelly French, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, comments:

“It’s important that buyers don’t allow themselves to get confused by the almost constant stream of data and news surrounding house prices. The bottom line is that house prices have reached their lowest for years and are now showing signs of growth again.

“This means that for all types of movers, whether first-time buyers or those with a current home, this is a prime time to grab a foothold on the property ladder or upgrade to a bigger home, before the recovery really gathers pace.”

Taylor Wimpey East Midlands has already seen a steady increase in ‘off-plan’ purchases for homes months ahead of them being completed.

Kelly adds:

“There is growing confidence in all aspects of the market, so those who are serious about buying should take the plunge. According to the Land Registry, average house prices in England and Wales are around 11.7% lower than they were a year ago, but rose 1.7% in July – the biggest increase in five years.

“The number of mortgages approved by banks also rose in July to the highest level since February 2008 according to the British Bankers’ Association. These are very telling signs that savvy homebuyers recognise the time to buy is now, rather than waiting to see what may develop over the coming months.”

With its stock of homes nearly sold out for 2009, Taylor Wimpey East Midlands is offering customers excellent deals on apartments and houses purchased off-plan at its developments. By purchasing off-plan, customers secure their home at a fixed price, even if properties of the same design rise in value before their new home is ready.

And by choosing their home before it has been built, purchasers can also have the pick of the plots as well as choosing their flooring and carpets, kitchen units and appliances. Because many options are built in as each property is constructed, the earlier a property is reserved, the more choices there are.

Further details of the interior styling ranges are available by visiting any of the housebuilder’s current developments. Taylor Wimpey, George Wimpey and Bryant Homes offer a choice of one and two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom houses.
