This brand-new event has seen over 1,000 applications and nominations from both inside and outside of the property sphere, championing the efforts and achievements of UK property professionals and recognising excellence within the industry.
The results were announced via a live Twitter event on the @propertyr Twitter account, where video messages of support from sponsors and a selection of judging feedback was shared alongside the winners.
Property Reporter would like to extend special thanks to the NRLA, who not only provided expert judge, Ben Beadle, to support the programme but have proudly supported the awards programme for its first year.
Alongside the NRLA and a wealth of category sponsors, Property Reporter also thanks its panel of expert judges – without whom the awards would not have been possible thanks to their time, effort and industry expertise. Faced with the near-impossible task of whittling down a mountain of nominations and applications to just 15 worthy winners, it was a mammoth effort which has revealed an impressive selection of businesses as the first-ever crop of winners for the Property Reporter Awards.
Warren Lewis, Property Reporter editor, says: "The immortal line in 1989 fantasy/drama 'Field of Dreams' seems rather apt doesn't it - 'If you build it, they will come'. Seeing that this entire event was still pretty much just a concept back in August, the response has been astonishing.
"We wanted to create a vehicle to help shine a light on all within the UK property industry who make a difference, who go the extra mile, who, through their innovation and creativity, help and support landlords and other property professionals and those who continuously strive for excellence within their sector. I think we did that and, judging by your response, I'm so happy that so many of you agree.
