Landlords register for Northern Ireland "unworkable"

The National Landlords Association (NLA) has commented on today's publication by the Department for Social Development of 'Building Sound Foundations - A Strategy for the Private Rented Sector'.

David Cox, Policy Officer, NLA, said:

"The NLA fails to see how a list of landlords is going to target the worst excesses in the sector. A register of property addresses will be almost permanently out of date as landlords change the composition of their portfolios.

"This approach would render a register utterly unworkable if landlords are only required to re-register every two or five years. It is of no use to tenants at all."
