Whilst the estate agent specialises in selling luxury property, it also strives to help those who do not have a home.

Fine & Country raised money for the Estate Agency Foundation, which distributes money to charities such as Shelter, Broadway and St Mungo’s, by enrolling all of its 200 UK offices as ambassadors of the charity and organising three fundraising events.

Jane Webber, Fundraiser Manager at the EAF, says that in England, almost 78,000 households were homeless in 2011/12 and “By supporting the EAF, Fine & Country supports homeless charities that target the very heart of the problem.“

The most recent fundraiser was a Christmas carol concert held in the Cambridge Union Society Debating Chamber. Carols were sung by the Chesterton Choral Society and mince pies and mulled wine was enjoyed by more than 300 local guests. The Fine & Country team also held a charity coffee morning in their Park Lane office. Home-made cakes were enjoyed and a raffle with prizes generously donated by local Mayfair businesses was drawn.

Fine & Country’s national network also took part in The Zoopla British Property Cycle in the summer which raised £50,000 for the charity. Agents throughout the UK cycled from their local office to the next office in the network to complete a ride of 3,000 miles around the coast. The determination of the agents was admirable and the local support they received was humbling. Fine & Country Director Jon Cooke, and owner of Fine & Country Rugby, Sean Newman took on the ultimate challenge of cycling the entire route.

Richard Combellack, IT and Marketing Director for Fine & Country, says that it is important that the business steps back from the day-to-day and actively helps people in need. “Fine & Country has not only raised funds for homeless people but it also generated a fantastic team spirit within the business and across the network. We will continue to support the charity next year to help it reach its £250,000 target and to realise a future where everyone has a place to call home.”
