"We’re incredibly thankful for the dedication of our staff, the generosity of the public, and the involvement of local schools and community groups. A single coat can provide warmth and comfort, making a real difference for those struggling during the colder months"

For the 11th consecutive year, London estate agency Chestertons is turning its network of over 30 branches across the capital into Coat Drive collection points. Members of the public can donate their unwanted coats, fleeces and gilets between 21 October to 23 November.

Last year, Chestertons received over 5,000 donations and, since first supporting the initiative in 2013, has collected an astonishing total of more than 20,000 winter garments.

Sara Scasseddu, Senior Marketing Executive at Chestertons, said: “For 11 years, we’ve proudly supported Calling London’s coat drive, and each year we see how essential this initiative has become. As financial pressures increase, so does the number of people in need of warm coats and jackets.

"We’re incredibly thankful for the dedication of our staff, the generosity of the public, and the involvement of local schools and community groups. A single coat can provide warmth and comfort, making a real difference for those struggling during the colder months.”

Once the Coat Drive ends on 23 November, donations are taken to a sorting centre before being distributed to over 30 charities helping the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, those living in poverty, the elderly, refugees and children.

Frances Manthos, Founder of Calling London, adds: “As winter approaches, many Londoners are struggling to afford warm clothing, especially with rising household costs. The kindness and support of the public are more important than ever. We urgently need coats for babies, children, and adults of all sizes to help those most in need.”

Chestertons is urging people to drop their unwanted winter coats and jackets at any of its branches in London before 23 November. Clean, warm coats, jackets, gilets and fleeces of all colours and sizes are required. To find your nearest office, click here or email marketing@chestertons.co.uk
