Specialist development finance lender Atelier has announced that it will be providing finance to assist with the ground-up development of 89 build-to-rent houses in Esh Winning, Durham. The 17-month, £7.14 million loan will part-fund the construction costs, providing much-needed single family housing in the area.

This marks Atelier’s first project with Placefirst, a prominent build-to-rent developer in the UK. The scheme seeks to deliver good quality and affordable rental properties, which are in high demand in the north of England.

Anthony Dobinson, Senior Credit Manager at Atelier, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Placefirst, an award-winning developer, owner and operator of high-quality, energy-efficient homes.
