YBS appointment of new General Manager

Yorkshire Building Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Wells to their General Management team as he takes up the role of General Manager - Risk.

Richard has worked at a number of major banks and joins the Yorkshire Building Society from Lloyds Banking Group where he was the Risk Director for their £345billion mortgage business.

Originally from Leicestershire, Richard 46, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and lives with his wife and three children in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Outside of work Richard enjoys all types of DIY and also enjoys hiking, football and travel.

Commenting on his appointment Richard said:

"I am very pleased to start my new role with the Yorkshire Building Society. Having spent my career within the lending and risk areas of a number of major institutions, I hope that I can add value to what is already an exceptionally strong General Management and Board team at Yorkshire Building Society.

"I am looking forward to helping with the development of the Yorkshire, Barnsley and Chelsea Building Society brands while ensuring that we maintain the solid financial foundations that give our members long term security and reassurance."

Commenting on the appointment Chief Executive of Yorkshire Building Society Iain Cornish added:
