The Estate Agency Foundation re-launches as Agents Giving

The Estate Agency Foundation has announced that it has rebranded itself as Agents Giving – the start of a new era for the charity. This comes shortly after the appointment of Peter Knight as Chairman of the charity in January 2014.

The new phase is marked by a broadening of the body’s charitable purpose, so that it is no longer restricted solely to giving money to homeless causes, but to a wider spread of charities.

Peter Knight, newly appointed Chairman at Agents Giving, explained:

“While homelessness is close to our hearts, by speaking to our members, we found that many agents are also keen to give back directly to their community, whether through raising money for local charities or supporting other activities. The new name, Agents Giving, highlights the breadth of causes that we are able to help through our members’ work.”

A further key aim of the charity is to significantly increase the amount of money raised, by increasing participation. Agents Giving now pledges that any money raised will be ‘topped up’ by 10% from central fund raising. For example, if a branch raises £1,000 they will in fact be able to give £1,100 for the charity of their choice by channelling their funding through Agents Giving.

Peter Knight said:

“We hope that our 10% ‘top-up’ will provide an incentive for even more agents to get involved in raising money for good causes.”

Agents Giving is already off to a flying start in 2014 and, in January, gave  over £50,000 to key national and local charities including: CentrePoint, Doncaster Housing for Young People and Winter Comfort Cambridge.*

Renowned TV presenter Phil Spencer and new Patron of Agents Giving also added:

“We want the charity to move up a gear and for more agents to get involved in its work. By putting something back into the community I need hardly say that it does wonders for agents’ firms and individuals alike – and also hugely benefits the community in which they work.

Estate agency needs all the positives it can muster and by supporting Agents Giving agents will be doing themselves and the community a big favour.”
