They have also congratulated Jack Dromey MP, the outgoing Shadow Housing Minister, on his new appointment as Shadow Police Minister at the Home Office.
Responding to the announcements, Kate Henderson, TCPA Chief Executive said:
"We are delighted to see the Labour Party promote the role of Shadow Housing Minister to the Shadow Cabinet, recognising the vital importance housing plays across a wide range of agendas, including health and wellbeing, the economy and sustainable communities. We look forward to working with Emma Reynolds MP in her new role as Shadow Housing Minister, along with the rest of the Shadow Communities and Local Government team, especially around the Labour Party's commitment to delivering a step change in housing supply and creating a new generation of garden cities.
"The TCPA would also like to pay tribute to the outgoing Shadow Housing Minister, Jack Dromey MP, who has been a fantastic advocate for the housing agenda; passionately making the case for more and better homes in the right places and working effectively with partners across the sector. His term as Shadow Housing Minister has seen the topic take centre ground in Labour Party policy, culminating in Ed Miliband's housing announcements in his Leader's speech this September."
