The Knutsford-based company, which employs around 70 staff, arranges the hiring of agency workers for blue chip customers, including Sainsbury's, The Co-Operative, Carlsberg and British Sugar.

The business designed and uses its own unique electronic timesheet and invoice processing system (e-tipsĀ®) to standardise rates for clients and produce just one electronic invoice per week, cutting out hours of administration and saving clients around 10 per cent a year on labour costs.

Matthew Sanders, Chief Executive of de Poel, said:

"Santander really took the time to get to know our businesses and understand our financing requirements. Moving our day-to-day banking was easy and efficient. This new banking partnership will enable us to focus on our ambition to grow our business and extend our client base.

"In the past two years the number of hours worked by temporary workers in the private sector has risen by 35 per cent and our new arrangement with Santander will give us the flexibility and resource we need to ensure we are able to continue to meet this upturn in demand."

Simon Carrier, Relationship Director at the North West Business Centre in Manchester, said:

"We at Santander Corporate Banking are committed to our corporate customers and pride ourselves on finding the right solutions to fit businesses' individual financing needs. de Poel is an innovative and growing company, with an impressive client base and strong management team. I wish them every success and look forward to working together going forward."

De Poel provides more than 60 clients with around 35,000 temporary workers a week from a panel of 1600 agencies.
