The NAEA and ARLA, along with The Property Ombudsman, My Home Move and My Deposits.co.uk are supporting the Estate Agency Foundation (EAF) to make this event even more successful than last year.  The EAF is dedicated to eliminating the causes of homelessness and money raised will go towards supporting projects run by charities including Centrepoint, plus smaller local homeless charities throughout the UK.

The cycle challenge has been designed to meet varying abilities; participants can chose to cycle between 20 and 100 miles in September and can opt to do it in one go or over the course of the month. The participant that raises the most money will win a bicycle donated by LSLI up to the value of £750 and for the top three fundraisers an additional £500 donation is also up for grabs from the EAF to a homeless charity of their choice.

Mark Hayward, Managing Director of NAEA, said:

“It’s a real pleasure to be involved in such a great cause and we look forward to helping making this event really special after such a great response last year.  We’re urging all of our members to don the lycra, get on the road and to raise as much money as possible.  This event is not confined to hardened cyclists who are out every weekend, it’s for everyone and there are some great suggestions on the EAF website on how to take part.  It’s a wonderful opportunity for the property industry to get together and have some fun whilst working to improve people’s lives.”

Jane Webber, Fundraising Manager, Estate Agency Foundation, added:

“The beauty of this event is that it’s open to all levels of fitness. It doesn’t matter how you get involved, whether it’s cycling on a static bike in the gym, hiring a tandem with a friend, or even going out for a day in the country side. Whatever route you take, you will be helping great charities whilst also having fun, and getting a bit of exercise!  The money raised by this inspiring initiative will help considerably towards our aim of eliminating the causes of homelessness.”
