According to the auctioneers, one of the stand-out lots of the day was 11 Alexander Drive in Altrincham, Manchester. Set in a popular residential location with close proximity to the city centre, this three-bedroomed semi-detached property, was in need of full renovation and upgrading but offered great potential for the right buyer. After being offered at a guide price of £225,000+ plus fees the property was subject to fierce bidding before selling for £356,000.

Elsewhere in Leicestershire that was the sale of the former Worthington Methodist Church. This was offered for sale in partnership with Gadsby Nichols and had a guide price of just £10,000+ plus fees. The building itself is tiny but offers great potential for commercial or residential conversion, subject to planning permission being obtained, and sold for £61,500 on auction day. The lucky buyer can benefit from immediate vacant possession upon completion.
Great results were also achieved in the West Midlands, especially with the sale of 62 Ridge Grove in Stourbridge. This three bedroomed, semi-detached property is located in a great spot close to Stourbridge town centre and is just a short distance from both Lye and Stourbridge railway stations, making it perfect for any commuters looking for their next home. While in need of some modernisation and refurbishment, the property benefits from gas central heating, UPVC windows and substantial front and rear gardens, and sold for £140,000 from its guide price of £70,000+ plus fees.
Another opportunity to add value to property was found in Worksop with 75 Church Street going under the hammer. This is a large end terraced property featuring four bedrooms and three reception rooms, giving it huge potential for HMO use or other rental accommodation, making it an ideal buy-to-let investment. Sold in partnership with Pinewood Properties, this was offered at a guide price of £68,000+ plus fees and eventually sold for £105,000.
Regarding timed sales, further strong results were found across the UK. One sale, in particular, was 70 High Holme Road in Lincolnshire, which was sold in partnership with John Taylors. This is a lovely Victorian end terrace briefly comprising of a lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. After being offered at a guide price of £90,000+ plus fees, this received a flurry of bidding activity before eventually selling for £98,500.
