The next Derby auction is set to take place on Thursday 22nd May at the iPro Stadium and the Graham Penny Auctions team is already busy processing entries following the excellent prices achieved at its first two successful auctions of the year.

Graham Penny, auctioneer at Graham Penny Auctions, commented:

“Our first two auctions of the year have been very successful; we raised more than £5m at each auction for our clients which has brought our total value raised in our eight year history to more than £300m.

We understand that although selling property by auction is undoubtedly becoming more popular, thanks in part to the success of TV programmes such as Homes under the Hammer, some people are still unsure of the process. We always offer free no obligation property valuations and talk all our potential vendors through the process to help them feel more comfortable and confident they will achieve a good sale price.”

Amongst the entries already received by Graham Penny Auctions are:

31 Davenport Road in Derby – a traditional two bedroomed semi-detached property with PVC double glazing and central heating and ready for immediate occupation. Suitable for a first time buyer or a buy-to-let investor. Guide price: £40,000+

180 Field Lane in Alvaston – an attractive three bedroomed double-fronted detached residence with the possibility of adaptation to four bedrooms with some internal rearrangement, also having two reception rooms and a full width two compartment conservatory at rear. Guide price: £90,000+

338 Stenson Road in Sunnyhill – a unique detached cottage property, dating from the 1800’s which used to be two cottages. It has tremendous scope and now requires a scheme of complete renovation. Guide price: £65,000+

Graham added: “A big advantage of selling by auction is the quick completion times; our sales are often completed within 21 days which means that the properties going under the hammer in our May auction will be completed by mid-June. Plus, when the hammer falls in the auction room, the sale is secure so there cannot be any fall-throughs.”
