David Sandeman of EI Group commented:

"I am pleased to report on another strong set of results, as over £400 million was raised across 128 UK auctions - a huge increase of 50% on March 2013. Lots offered rose 18%, to 2,880 lots, yet even more astonishing is that lots sold gained 25% to 2,235 lots.

This large increase can be partly attributed to a major London residential auction house holding their Spring auction in March this year as opposed to April last year. However, our historic figures reveal that the 2,235 lots sold is the greatest number ever recorded in March, surpassing the previous high of 2,220 lots sold in March 2007 when the market was at its peak."
